Appraisal Skills for Nurses
The NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) has committed to introduce a proportionate and effective model of revalidation which enhances public protection.
The Council has agreed that revalidation will require a third party (such as an employer or manager) to confirm that the nurse or midwife who is revalidating is complying with the revised Code. Couple this with the outcomes of the Francis report and the media spotlight is firmly on the nursing profession.
Healthcare organisations are more focused than ever on improving the quality of both patient care and safety; whilst demonstrating compliance with existing and future legislation. They must prioritise the effective management of appraisal, training and (in time) revalidation of nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals; ensuring that a transparent and robust appraisal process is at the top of the list.
This course will ensure that those employees involved in the process of appraising nurses are as well-equipped as possible to play a leading role in this nursing revolution.
